Tom Robey
Tom grew up in the Pittsburgh suburbs – climbing trees, playing in the creek, and managing the family’s vegetable garden. His best days were – and are still – spent outside in nature.
He holds engineering degrees from Duke and Stanford.
His first job after college was as an engineer at Solarex, a maker of solar panels, which later became BP Solar. He spent a career moving from Engineering to Information Technology to Product Management to Investor Relations and Corporate Development at big companies, including IBM, Time Warner Cable, and Google.
Tom and his wife, Jill, have been New Canaan residents for 18 years. Tom has become a true New Englander – he has built more than 500 linear feet of stone walls – mostly dry stacked. Jill is the founder and executive director of Flower Again, which repurposes flowers from weddings and events into small arrangements, which her team delivers to low-income seniors in Fairfield County.
They have just moved into their “forever house” on Wahackme Road. Overlooking a private pond, it is solar powered, with geothermal heating and cooling. Their new home is flanked by New Canaan Land Trust Properties.
