John Hutchins

Anda and I moved to New Canaan from The Netherlands in 1997. Our three grown daughters currently live in Brooklyn, Venice, CA and St. Petersburg, FL. I grew up on Long Island’s North Shore. I attended Friends Academy in Locust Valley and graduated from Deerfield Academy and Hamilton College. Anda and I were married in 1982. In 2013 I retired after 37 years of multinational corporate and investment banking. Retirement allows me to spend more time in my woodworking shop and help Anda in our extensive gardens. I enjoy tennis, paddle tennis, golf and ice hockey and the outdoors, particularly hiking in the Adirondacks. I served on the Board and was Treasurer of the New Canaan Nature Center from 2014-2020. I remain on the Finance Committee. I am also a reviewer for the New Canaan Community Foundation’s 2026 grant cycle.
