Jim Tierney
Jim has lived in New Canaan for nearly thirty years, where he raised his three children. A lifelong love of the outdoors is what first connected him to the Land Trust. Whether hiking the properties, clearing trees, or helping maintain the landscape, Jim enjoys being actively involved in the stewardship of local open space.
That same enthusiasm carries over to his home, where he tends to a flock of chickens, an apple orchard, and despite mixed success…the ongoing challenges of beekeeping.
Jim recently retired after a thirty-eight-year career on Wall Street in the equity investment business, working at J.P. Morgan Investment Management, W.P. Stewart, and most recently AllianceBernstein. He is a graduate of Providence College and received his MBA from Columbia Business School. A lifelong learner, Jim looks forward to deepening his understanding of land conservation and contributing to the Land Trust’s mission.
