Ali Luddy
Ali Luddy has lived in New Canaan since 2015 with her husband and three young children. She holds a BA in Anthropology and Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania and an MSW from Columbia University. For 12 years, Ali worked as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in child and adolescent mental health in diverse settings, including New York-Presbyterian Hospital, foster care, and Brooklyn Criminal Court.
After pausing her professional career, Ali pursued Master Gardener training through UCONN at the Bartlett Arboretum, combining her passion for mental health and nature. She has volunteered at Lee Garden and the Bartlett’s Sensory Garden and feels most grounded in nature; a love rooted in childhood walks near Mianus River Park.
During the 2020 lockdown, Ali and her family deepened their connection to the New Canaan Land Trust preserves, particularly Watson-Symington and Silvermine Fowler. She has volunteered extensively in town, serving on the boards of Newcomers Club and A Better Chance, as a class mom, and as part of the Gardening Committee at West School. Through the New Canaan Community Foundation, she leads grant reviews and serves on the Scholarship Committee. After joining the Events Committee at NCLT, Ali looks forward to further supporting open space advocacy, especially for young families.
