Newell Cotton

Newell and his family first moved to New Canaan in 2004 and returned in 2016 after eight years abroad in Singapore. His love of the outdoors began when growing up in Western Massachusetts, and was rekindled locally while exploring the NCLT’s preserves together with his family, setting up birdwatching hotspots to record their observations and increase community awareness of the biodiversity that is present in New Canaan’s open space. Newell is a graduate of Bates College, Harvard University, and The Wharton School of Business, and has worked in private equity and real estate finance, and as an executive and advisor with companies focused on clean energy, financial technology, and restaurant digitization. He has been active in international chapters of the Penn and Harvard alumni associations.
