Butterflies of New Canaan: Where to Find and How to Identify Them

August 15 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Free

This program is co-sponsored by the New Canaan Land Trust and New Canaan Library. Please register on the Library’s event page (link coming soon).

Join amateur entomologist, Victor DeMasi, on a guided walk through the New Canaan Land Trust’s Livingston-Higley Meadow. One of the largest in New Canaan, this meadow is home to dozens of species of butterflies, and is an excellent place to spot these beautiful creatures. Participants will learn about the butterfly life-cycle, ways to identify butterflies, as well as some of the plants that they rely on for their survival.

Participants should dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes, and be prepared to walk on uneven surfaces.

Rain Date: Sunday August 16
