Dave Hunt

Dave Hunt was born and raised in Vermillion, South Dakota, and graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Mathematics. He worked for 36 years as an actuary for Hewitt Associates, a management consulting firm, and later served as Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee until his retirement in 2002. Dave is a long time New Canaan resident, living in town since 1976, and has been involved in many community service programs during time. Dave has been co-president of the New Canaan High School Sports Council, Chair of the United Way of New Canaan, President of the New Canaan Community Foundation, a Director of Inspirica (formerly called St. Luke’s Lifeworks) in Stamford, a Director of the Visiting Nurse and Hospice of Fairfield County, the Treasurer of the Senior Center in New Canaan, a Director at the Silver Hill Hospital. In addition to his involvement with the New Canaan Land Trust, Dave is currently a CERT volunteer, Treasurer for the Senior Men’s Club, and member of the New Canaan Beautification League. In his free time, Dave likes to travel, enjoys photography, plays bridge, and is working on a family genealogy research project.
